We're a fan of the arts - you only have to see the mural on the front of our Salon to see that! So we decided to hold our own exhibition, in conjunction with artists from the Meath Arts Group.
The exhibition is now over. We'd like to thank all the artists who paricipated, and Meath Arts Group for their help and support!
Several artists are involved, with paintings from each artists displayed for four weeks each. All artists are members of Meath Arts Group Current Artist Marysia Artists Profile - Marysia
All Prints on display are individually hand printed. In my work the Art work or Design is worked onto a Copper plate using Etching Techniques e.g Acqatint, this can be a lengthy process, once the plate is ready it is carefully inked using a wiping process & one printed is made by hand at one time. Acqatinting involves creating tones/shades on the copper plate by applying acid. Monoprints can’t be identically reproduced, they are one off art works. It is possible to purchase some of the prints on display as unframed works If you are interested in any of the art work on display then please do contact Marysia on 087 6853452 Marysia is a qualified and experienced art teacher and artist She been teaching for over 20 years in a wide range of educational settings including primary and secondary level education, adult education, special education, art centres, education centres, youth clubs, and community education. Artists Profile - Natalia Ovriakh
I am completely self taught artist. My subject matter is very diverse. It ranges from landscapes to nude. I paint whatever i find inspiration in. I work mainly in oils but also in acrylics. I have great love of colour. It has the power to create and affect mood and is a big factor in our everyday feelings. I continue to experiment with my paintings and i am not afraid to try new techniques. I also try to look at everyday things in a new and a fresh look.
Although I have painted enthusiastically in the last number of years, I'm relatively new to the world of selling and exhibiting work. However i have already participated in various open-submission shows and in group shows around Ireland.
My aim is to paint distinctive paintings that are as individual as a signature easily recognizable, collective art. Artists Profile - Rachel McCabe I am an emerging Irish artist who has found a great interest in watercolour paintings where an infinite versatility of the natural world can be created. Detail has often driven my work as I always make careful observations of my subjects. I love capturing formations through colour combinations and a multitude of experimentation and technique processes. My execution of floral and plant collages are realistic and I try to display a stunning degree of precision. However, it is not possible to work entirely seasonally and so I also use a lot of photographs taken at a plants peak so I can work throughout the year. But it’s much more exciting to work directly from nature. Ireland’s remote landscapes are astoundingly beautiful, often powerful. More recently I have begun to expose this in my work. Certain landscapes from where I am from have influenced me greatly. My perspective on these compositions has direct personal vision. Again I often use digital reference in order to fix dimension and centre my attention. As time passes though, it becomes less about the photography and more about my own focus and visualization. While capturing the cultural significance of Mother Nature I have also been deeply inspired by the places I have travelled and this is evidently present in my work also. I have a blog page where all my work can be viewed |
